New features in Picasa 3.8

New features in Picasa 3.8

I used to like Picassa a lot. Then I got away from it. Now I'm going to give it another try, especially since I have a bunch of photos and videos already on it. So...Here goes. I like to edit with Picnic, that was fun the first time I tried it, but I haven't done much more with it since. I'm on a macbook pro, that my iPhoto doesn't seem to want to work right, oh well. (deep subject) I'll keep you posted on how it works for photo's and such. If anyone else has input, please offer it. What photo organizer in the cloud do you like best?

How to use the find and replace feature in Google Docs

This article explains how to use the “find and replace” feature included free in Google Docs, much like the data merge feature of The Best Spinner robot does, to hand flat spin content like crazy. This edit feature of Google Docs, is actually a built-in robot spinner. The Best Spinner has a lot more tools and features, obviously, but this free Docs tool is perfect for prepping the article for the robot.

Data merging comes into play in the example below, that will show you step by step how to spin content. This article that Natasha wrote is about letting your bird fly free indoors, safely. This RSA file is being constructed so that we can produce content for Vermont Pet Services. We have an order for $100 of content per month for 6 months. We are going to be selling spun out articles, 80% original, appx 400-1000 words. About thirty percent of this content is going to be “Vermont Specific.” This same “find and replace” feature will work to change a body of “Vermont Pet Services” content into “Arizona Pet Services” content. It’s cool! You’ll see.

Remember, the TBS Robot has a feature that allows the spinner to take the first selection of each string in the pipes | | , then the second, and so on, in succession, as opposed to just a random selection within each pair of parenthesis. So in Natasha Polak’s article below, I’ve used the “find and replace” in the drop down “Edit” menu as a sort of data merge feature that comes with the spinning robot, as a short cut to prepare her article for the robot. This will make a piece of original content specific to each type of bird. The robot will spit out five with just a couple clicks, from the RSA file. Cool huh? It get’s better...

But I don’t want to get diarrhea of the mouse here, like I’m known to do, so let me just show you how to do this already! :-)

Natasha typed out: {bird|cockatiel|parrot|conure|macaw} If she knew this trick she could have just used the words, in brackets: {bird}, {birds}, {Bird}, {Birds}

Letting Your Bird Fly Free

If you have a pet {bird|cockatiel|parrot|conure|macaw}, he or she should have a cage.  Does that mean you must keep your pet caged up all the time?  Not at all.

So I edited the RSA file to look like this:

Letting Your Bird Fly Free

If you have a pet {bird}, he or she should have a cage.  Does that mean you must keep your pet caged up all the time?  Not at all.

Then I added this at the top of the RSA:

{bird} = {bird|cockatiel|parrot|conure|macaw|parakeet|canary|finch}
{Bird} = {Bird|Cockatiel|Parrot|Conure|Macaw|Parakeet|Canary|Finch}
{birds} = {birds|cockatiels|parrots|conures|macaws|parakeets|finches}
{Birds} = {Birds|Cockatiels|Parrots|Conures|Macaws|Parakeets|Finches}

Now when I do a find an replace for each, I save a ton of typing, and the whole document looks like this:

Letting Your Bird Fly Free

If you have a pet {bird|cockatiel|parrot|conure|macaw|parakeet|canary|finch}, he or she should have a cage.  Does that mean you must keep your pet caged up all the time?  Not at all.  In fact,  {birds|cockatiels|parrots|conures|macaws|parakeets|canaries|finches} need ample flying time each day, so that they can exercise their wings without the restriction of cage bars, perches, and toys.  A cage is needed for sleeping in at night, or when you are not at home.  Having a cage also helps keeping messes made from eating and {bird|cockatiel|parrot|conure|macaw|parakeet|canary|finch} {poopie-doopie|excrement|droppings|poop} more contained to a central location that you can easily clean -rather than ruining your furniture and flooring.

To do a find and replace, just drop down the edit menu in Google Docs, and select it. Input {bird} in the “find” box and then having already copied the:

{bird|cockatiel|parrot|conure|macaw|parakeet|canary|finch} after the {bird}=

Paste that in the “replace with” box. Make sure you select “Match case” then hit the “Replace all” button. There you go! Another benefit of doing it this way, is that if for instance, we updated the list of birds and added more types of birds, the find and replace could easily be done once again with the new, longer, updated list.

Bangari: Ready for Launch?

Happy Friday Team!

I think we are about ready for launch. I have about a dozen posts prepared that help explain our business model, including, most importantly the payout system.

I'm really confident that I'm on to something with content production that many others are not seeing. My goal isn't to become a muti-millioneaire. I'm really just looking to create a good paying work at home job for thousands of people...So I'm still out to make millions of dollars, just not keep them all for myself.

This business model is complicated. Once I start getting feedback that everyone onboard understands it I'll feel better and even more confident. You can have the most brilliant idea in the world, but if you can't explain it you can't sell it, and if you can't sell it then obviously it doesn't make you or anyone else money.

It's common practice to keep a new site in a "staging" status, until it is completely, or petty much completely built and properly linked, with permission given to the indexing robots to do their thing. Then, as traffic starts to flow, the advertising is placed.

Of course, I'm impatient, and want to launch today! Especially since The Best Spinner Robots are going for a real good price, and at an 80% commission. That could be some good revenue for us as new people like what we are doing, and join us.

If the team we have assembled so far feels like they understand our business model to the point they can explain it or at least answer the majority of basic questions about it, then I wouldn't hesitate to start posting. Just realize that once we start posting, we have to keep going. We can't stop, work out issues, and then try to roll again. It's all about momentum with this stuff.

We are going to get a lot of flack for this system being complicated. What people don't understand, they don't like. That's my biggest worry about Bangari.

I'm posting this on the BCS Blog. I want to know what everyone thinks. Should we launch? should we wait? What more do we need to prepare?

Please sign up to follow Bangari Content Studio's Blog (Blogger) We can have a bit more discussion there, and then make our decision.

Thanks!

Kevin

Please just apologize, and let's get back to work

I don't hide my personality from anyone Sally. I also never "act" like someone's friend, when really I don't like them...just to get something out of them that I don't deserve. I believe your friendship was sincere, and I know my love for you was real. I still hope the best for you.

I don't talk out of both sides of my mouth either Sally. If I play "competitive intelligence" games with others, I even do that with honesty...brutal honesty. I also keep it legal. And then I publish everything I say.

I'm glad you posted all that chat. It's a lot of circles, but it boils down to:

I got $5,000 worth of writing work.

I paid my friends, and other new writers I didn't know .03 per word, even though I knew they (especially you and Carol) would be willing to work for a lot less.

I had trouble getting paid because Billy (who is now fired as I predicted) screwed up, and tried to put the blame on our team.

I fought with a multi-million dollar company, w/o a lawyer, forcefully but legally to collect our money.

I won the battle, collected, and paid everyone as promised...keeping no more than about $500 for myself, less than I paid you to manage it.

Since July, and while all this work was going on, I've worked hard at setting up all sorts of systems and strategies, to enable hard working people like us to make a minimum of .03 per word. (and not have to beg for or fight for our money) You were my right hand, my project manager. and you were awesome at it!

Of course you are a freelancer, and I didn't have an "exclusivity" agreement with you. I know you write for AC and Factoidz still, and that was okay, I had a way to deal with that, and pull some advantages out of it for you and the team. But...

Going to Marcus wasn't a mistake either. Yes, I had no problem with you being my "guy on the inside" for competitive intelligence reasons, while I was trying to collect on the contract they were refusing to pay on. We discussed that. After he somehow contacted you to say Billy got fired, it's fine that you communicated with him, even if it was try to get work, that you say you wouldn't take, because you saw what I had to go through to collect. But here is your big screw up that undermines everything I'm trying to accomplish...

He asked you specifically what you would charge, and you answered $6-$8!!!! For the same work that I managed to charge him a "living wage" for, only five weeks later!! You did all this behind my back. You knew it was underhanded, that's why you "forgot to tell me" about it. I tell you everything. I keep the rest of our team informed to the point that they are probably sick of hearing it! LOL. Transparency. Transparency. Transparency. For real!

I have about three secrets regarding this business. Each of them are just very technical. I would only tell them to a potential investor after an iron clad non-disclosure agreement. Hopefully, I won't need an investor. Even with you speaking against me as a "former friend" I think my plan is a good one, that people will sign onto even if they know what an asshole I am...I don't hide this side of me.

I'm setting it all up so no one can be ripped off. I'm not Mike Quoc. They won't even lose anything if my plan fails. If it is a success, like it has been so far, even though there is plenty of room for improvement,. and lots of work to be done, then that success will be shared fairly among everyone who participated, according to how much they participated...Again, I'm not Mike Quoc. I'm not going to screw over the same people who helped make my ideas a success.

I'm working hard on an algorithm. When I'm done, it is going to be the key to all of us earning a fair wage for our craft. People like you who don't understand their true value, and bid cut-throat prices and work for slave wages are going to crash and burn along with the content farms and black hat SEOers who keep you busy at $3.00 per hour. If you don't, then you will just be working against us and making it difficult for those who know that their time and talent is worth more that 50% of minimum wage to earn a living at this. Is that what you want? Misery loves company, I guess poverty does too.

But man, I hate poverty! It's been four years now for me. I'm getting the hell out of this poverty pit. I'm confident that I know the way. As a group effort it's all the more likely to happen...there is strength in numbers. I really was hoping you would have been a part of it. Re-establishing our friendship is only an "I'm sorry I cut everyone's throat with Marcus, I won't ever do it again" away...

Just so there is a public record of what transpired between me and Kevin I will post it here for transparancy
