Posting and Linking

Hi all, here is another email with food for thought!

What you did with that last post, is exactly what I envisioned...Get out of my head! Haha...Seriously, awesome job!

I added that blurb to draw a directory of Ketubah Artists, and other Judaica art. This is a great niche that I think we will dominate, thanks to you!!! Listen, just please be patient. The more I research, the more I see that it could take a few months, even after we start drawing 10,000 page views per day, to start taking in some real money in passive revenue. I have no idea what the stats will be as far as how much content we will sell per visitor...we need bigger traffic numbers before we'll figure out that ratio.

Over the last few days we are racking up over 100 page views per day...18/hour...we need to shoot for 10x more. That will happen as we post all this content we have created. You seem to be the resident "Master Poster!" -You got me beat! Now we need to figure out a fair stipend in Bangari Bucks for posting. Just the way we did on your Hand Painted Ketubah Post.< (link to your post)

Let's have a discussion here, and get it nailed down!
Kevin
Now that our traffic stats are climbing, we need to post regularly. With Amazon product placement, you got us covered with potential passive revenue. I think the traffic is going to start getting us contract work soon.

  1. Hi Kevin
You see that I only manages to add Amazon links as images without text, do you want me to add similar ones to other articles?

Lets start working on another niche, give us a subject.

  2. Hi Keven
I see you got a link intot eh sidebar, no banner though. You have to tell me how you did it!!! Do you have an "appearance" option on your Wordpress dashboard?

  3. That was supposed to be a banner, but it just shows up as a link. That's the problem!

Here are some other niches that will be likely to draw the kind of paying-for-writing customers that we are looking for:

    Private Label Rights

Viral Blog Content (I know what Mike Quoc is trying to do tee-hee...Let's beat him to the finish line

    Infographics

    Internet slander and defamation

    US Wiretapping laws

    Embezzlement

How's that? Btw. There is an awesome free program called "jing" check it out. It allows you to grab a "picture" of anything, including text. That red and green "price" I posted on your hand painted Ketubah article was just a "picture of Text" If you use it, and like it, we could write about it, and that would make a great affiliate relationship.

  4. OK will get to those eventually maybe the other writers can also get started on them!
I officially give up trying to get the banner in. From what I've read it is a Wordpress issue not an Amazon issue. It could be to do with the theme we are using (it's not that attractive btw); it could need to be added using the add image option; it could be something to do with putting a banner on individual pages and not every page or it is something else! I don't have an "Appearance" button on the Bangari dashboard so I can't do anything with the sidebar.

  5. Hey! You callin' the site ugly?! LOL...I know. I'm talking with Natasha's Uncle about a redesign. It definitely needs it. We can address the banner problem then. At least we are getting a handle on posting affiliate banners in the body of the articles. That will remain as we eventually redesign the site. It was a noble effort Petal, thanks!

  6. Kevin just posted "Tattoo idea", I got a notice by email about a pingback, I think it's because of the links I put into the article from other BCG pages, is it?

Couldn't get into Amazon for some reason, wanted to add some ads.

Well done on writting so much this week!

Also I don't know how to add the related articles bit at the bottom of the article.

  7. Just checked BCG for broken links, the Amazon widget is showing as broken, wikipedia about loving and How TO Live The Freelance Life.

  8. Great work Petal! Could you delete of fix those links? That is a great tool, and an important thing to check. We could use a quick post about that tool and the importance of eliminating broken links.

Yes, I was confused about "pingbacks too, but you are right, it's just va signal that someone put a link on our site, whether it was one of us in our post, or someone else in comments.

That's why we put "related articles" you should see a place to select them on the bottom right of the editor or actually in the right sidebar...Then, those authors get a "pingback" and that draws them to our site to read and comment. When our spun content is ready, we can use it to post on others sites, in comments, and get backlinks that way.

I haven't heard back from our "twin" yet? I'll let you know when I find out what's going on with that.

I'm having trouble with Amazon too. I think both accounts are under one password. I changed (cuz I forgot) my password for Camels and shepherds, and I guess it changed the Bangari one too.

    I'll fix it. I'll use:

    November11

    for the new password.

Sara Valor is going to introduce us to a platform on squido, that makes it very easy to post Amazon ads...I'm researching it now.

I've been writng like crazy, that's for sure! I spend even more time researching...I'm coming up with some good things, and from everything I've learned, we are doing things correctly, especially on a shoestring budget! haha

    Shalom!

  9. ooops! I just posted a password! duh...this started as an email. haha. Nevermind, I'll pick a different one and email it to you.

  10. Tried to fix broken links but they are in the related articles and I don't have it on my sidebar/dashboard thingy.

  11. Okay, I'll try. Did you accidentally change the layout on the home page? I can't get it back. It's showing two posts, one in th eusual spot, and one in the sidebar...

  12. Can you let me know the new password for Amazon - I presume you changed it from November 11!

Dear Kev, no offence meant but the last post on BCG maybe too personal for the site?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I didn't change anything, not as far as I know!

    ReplyDelete
  14. No offence taken. I don't know what to do. We got the most views ever with the last post on this topic. I had a post like that where I called out the owner of Countrywide Home Loans that I posted on Factoidz, and it was the only thing I ever wrote that went semi-viral...

I have another article like this on BCG, where I call out William Toborg of the Vermont Department of Labor.

Should I keep this stuff on my Camels and Shepherds Blog? That's where I have the story about the murder investigation I am involved in. If my blogging on that topic gets really popular if the case gets popular, then all my "personal" and controversial articles and other Blog posts will get popular, and it could bring a lot of traffic.

I like to say that a blogger writes their diary online, and encourages people to read it. Being a blogger means putting yourself out there. I hoped that by mixing it up at Bangari...Blogging, bulk content writing, and even the fiction project that Angelique and Lionel have on the horizon and "religious content" that Mike Q. didn't allow, would all work together to bring a wide variety of traffic.

Of course, we don't have to do it that way. We can just focus Bangari on doing bulk content, and promoting ebook writers and artists.

We got our first amazon click through, but no purchase as far as I know. I'll get the new password to you. I forgot, sorry!

  15. I think it is ok to write that kind of stuff on BCG, like the first post you made about the subject, but at some point it gets too personal. You could also spin to post the same idea on Camels and BCG making camels really vicious and BCG a bit more objective. It's really posts to pull in views not with a mind to sell as an article right?
It's up to you about the Amazon account, if we use the same one for both then in a way you lose out as you'll be sharing profit that came from your personal blog. I'll post some Amazon ads on my blogs as well.
I think focusing on Bulk content will get us the most money, best rep with writers and a boost to get started. After that we can branch out.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ahhhh. The soothing voice of reason... :-) Thanks Petal. I think you've got the right idea. It was good to post the "Apathetic Social Workers" on BCG, but I should have done the other, less objective, more provocative (vicious) piece on Camels and Shepherds. From now on, that's what I'll do.

As long as the sites are connected together (which is driving me crazy, because I can't get them to link the way they're supposed to) then it practically doesn't matter what site we are adding the content to, BCG, or any of our personal sites. Adding, (posting)content will benefit them all from an SEO standpoint.

I'm planning a series of posts that will explain how even though it is tough to imagine, there could be a much bigger and more lucrative market for the kind of "vicious" and "personal" content I've written, than the general-audience, bulk content we have sold, and are trying to sell and get passive revenue from. But even so, it's not a reason to do one and not the other...each is advantageous to the other. Hopefully it will be easier to explain than the Bangari bucks system! haha...

Amazon: From what you said, and from what Sara Valor has been educating me about over the last couple days (more on that later) I think we should all have our own accounts to receive "passive" revenue. I'm planning another post about that. It has nothing to do with "competing" with each other. It has more to do with encouraging posting and monetizing, and rewarding those two important tasks fairly, (in a less complicated way than the bb bucks sys) -like we do with the content production.

Again, Petal, thanks for your input. You have no idea how much I value it! I think the final pieces of the puzzle are coming together! Oh, and your Ketubah Project is climbing in the search engines fast! Sara did some promoting, and we picked a really good niche here. The tattoo angle I thunk up is performing really well even though it's "early"

  17. What's more important
    1. Alexa rating
    2.Number of backlinks
    3.Google PageRank
    Anyone know?

    ReplyDelete
  18. 4. All of the above!

I use Alexa as my guide, I like it the best, and they offer very affordable services to help climb the ranks, in addition to the awesome tools they offer for free. The "number" of backlinks are not quite as important as the "quality" of those backlinks. another rub, is that too many too soon will get us "penalized" it has to look natural, or better yet, BE natural. so far so good...Linking to "related articles" is great for getting natural backlinks. Many times they are reciprocal links, meaning we link to them, and they link to us, but that's not such a big deal anymore, from what I see.

When we link in someone elses article, post, blog...They receive a "pingback" they check, and if they see it isn't "spam" (about 50% of comments and pingbacks are) then they will likely follow it back to Bangari, and read and comment on our post. We get a pingback, and then follow it to their blog, and comment there.

Eventually, (careful not to be pushy) we can drop a link to our site on theirs. This is a precious "backlink." We have about a dozen (they don't all show up until the next crawl of our site) We need about 2,000. They are worth about $2-$40 each, and to be "contextual" it requires quality text content as the foundation.
