Q&A-Payment, Posting and more...

As we get established, and stumble through the policy forming process it is important to ask questions which often lead to new policy or ideas. Kevin is our go-to guy for answers so I want to share this e-mail with you where he answered a few of my questions. Please add any comments or other questions you have so we can be completely clear about how Bangari Bangs!

I really don't mind waiting until things are running smoothly before getting money, but thanks!

No Problem. Maybe later, when we've recruited some hard working new writers, some of us "original" Bangari writers can hold off on a payment, or cash in only 50%, so new writers can be encouraged. Remember, you don't "lose" the money if you don't take a payment. You just get more at a later date.

I managed to post a Ketubah article in 36 minutes including proofing and learning how to post. I haven't added links or images but will go back to that. If we give easy instructions to writers on how to post it shouldn't be a problem, some of them may already know how.

That's awesome! Very encouraging news! I think you are great at writing instructions, and the glossary and such. I think once I get you to completely understand our payment system, you will be able to do a better job than I can when it comes to explaining it to others. Adding links and pictures is very easy on WordPress. point and click & drag and drop.

I want to take this one article and go through the whole process - in a week I'll post the other spunout versions on the other places (blog etc).

That will be great. Make sure you keep your time on each step. Once you do that, I'll take your timekeeping notes, and make a time study form. This way we know how many credits to pay for other types of work that we do, besides producing word count.

We need to mention that word count for spunout versions don't need to be added to the trade table as they are paid for the RSA which is the same words - right?
Or do writers claim payment for ORG, RSA and Spunout word count?

You are 100% correct about all this. Although, I'm trying to figure out the process of spun outs. It still takes time and effort to use the robot to pull one out of the RSA, proof, edit and post. We should get times on this so we can document it all and pay for it.

We also need to figure out a fair way of distributing the spun out versions inside Bangari. All Bangari content producers should be allowed to take spun out articles, even if they didn't work on that RSA. These can be used for their own personal sites, or to promote sales of their own books or products.

When we figure out the value in credits, then this won't be too difficult. That's why I made the "trade tables" It will enable us to trade credits with each other. E.g.; Maekela could pay you 10 Bangari bucks that she has in her account, for a spun out, proofed and edited Ketubah article to post on her site where she promotes her book: The Kama Sutra of Celibacy.

See...Just when you thought the payment system couldn't get more complicated! LOL

I'm still worried about keeping the balance between incoming money and payments to writers. There could be a month where writers write but no income comes in, then where are they getting paid from? If there were several months like that, what then?

True. But we need everyone to understand that we are all in the same boat. We are all new authors. Every writer writes their first book "on speculation." All that work, and they only get paid if they find a publisher who likes it. Even that first payment is just an advance on what the publisher believes they will make in book sales. (Like the $50 I just sent you) After that, the author gets royalties, like, a buck a book, each time one sells. It's only after the first successful book, that the publisher will pay the author on another title, before that author has written a single word.

The most important thing to remember is: Unlike the content farms, your work will never be taken from you and used to generate revenue that you don't get a share of.

Bye for now

Bye!

PS. Could you start a thread w/ this email on Bangari Content Studio Blog? (not the private site)

  1. I've been out of the loop for awhile, so I'm really confused. I'm writing prospective Liberator Medical articles, and I'm also writing some celibacy articles for Kevin. As I write them I am putting the information in the Work Completed Form.. I don't have a work trade table because my name was taken off the BCG site and not put back on.. so I don't know what to do. I can't post anything myself on the gallery, because back when Kevin tried to get me in, he couldn't. So I'm kind of lost. I'm just writing and sharing them with Kevin. I'll do my own spinning when I am ready to.

I don't have the email addresses of anyone else anymore except for Martha... I removed everyone's email addresses from my address book when Kevin and I were 'split up'... because I had no intention of ever contacting anyone back then.

Anyway... I just chimed in to say that I'm lost in the wilderness here. My memory is very bad so I don't even know if I get paid for spinning my own articles, or if they are just a waste of my time. Help! :)

    Thanks!

  2. Hey Sal,

Give me some time to get all that stuff done. I didn't even finish organizing since our divorce, and now I have to re-organize for our remarriage. I bet the honeymoon will make it all worthwhile! ;-)...Just remember the golden rule: Don't start nagging a guy until AFTER you marry him! I'm so glad we're back together Sweetheart! :-D

Just keep doing what you are doing. I'll stop you if you are wasting time. Petal did an awesome job on getting this thread going. This is a good example of putting our time (and word count) to good use. The robots like to hear conversations like this. They like to see word count added to a blog, coming in from all over the "English Speaking" World. Later, I plan to "mine" my emails for all sorts of topics like this. What we are creating when we do this is "onsite and off-site" SEO. Look that up. Also, check out Steve Weber's site. I've been following him for years, and he is definitely NOT a scammer. He is the real deal. He explains a lot about straight up approaches to SEO, and Website monetization.

Consider to yourself, every word you type as worth .10...One way or another. It's content that promotes a "co-op" site that creates content and draws revenue, over time (three years or more) from those creations in all sorts of ways possible, then that is distributed fairly to the authors, by the word count they contributed to the entire inventory of content that the Bangari Team produces. The Bangari Bucks System accounts for this very long "pipeline" extending from the time we collaboratively produce this content, until the time this content has shit it's last shekel.

We have a lot to do as we build up enough content so that we begin to post it and sell it and collect revenue on it. This will build quality backlinks and make our site more popular, and start drawing paying customers. I have many good leads on those, but we need to have enough content "in stock" before I pursue them, otherwise we could get more orders than we could fill, and that would be chaos that could ruin us. More importantly, I need to know that our systems work well. The behind the scenes stuff I do with preparing for email list building, accounting, etc...It works, but not as smoothly as I would like. I want to test it out some more and tweak it so it can handle signing up a lot of people and organizing, like, Billy's project x 5 !! Right Sally? Great job managing all that!

Okay, I've blabbed enough, got to go do some "real world" stuff, and I'll be back later. - Thanks! Kevin

  3. Okay Kevin... I'll look that guy up. I'll be up and down today as I am able... got my MRI results.. have 2 bulging discs causing all this pain.

Note to self!: No nagging! Not even when we are married for 50 years! lol.

    Ummmm...What constitutes nagging? hehe

    Love you!

Kudos to Petal for this post... I don't understand much... but I'll get there.

  4. Nagging = Anything (nonsexual) that a woman {asks|tells} a man to do, no matter how nicely. :-) Luv u 2! What are they proposing to do to fix your back and end your pain?

  5. I just heard from the doc today and regular nerve blocks aren't going to work. I'm going to have to go to a pain clinic and have an epidural. I'm not sure if the epidural will stay in place with a catheter, or if they will do an epidural each and every time I have to have one.. I'm scared about this.. but I'm in so much pain I'm willing to do it.

I'll be sure not to nag...hehe...

I did a little steamy article for the Kama Sutra Celibacy project... It's about learning what pleases the partners by abstaining from intercourse, but exploring each other in a very sensual way. I love this kind of stuff.

Thanks for setting me up on the gallery... now how do I post to the gallery? or do you do that still?

And... what about the catheter articles? I have 2 of those done, but there is no place on the new form for Liberator Medical.. so where will these go?

I'm doing good on my time for writing these articles too... I'm proud of myself.

  6. Kevin - you do have my paypal info right? Just checking!

  7. @ Sally: I hope it goes well for you. Be careful with the treatments. You know how addicting pain meds can be. I prayed for you. I hope you heal, and need nothing from the doctors.

The Celibacy thing is going to be a good topic. It's the perfect mix of a niche topic with "over-popular" keywords (like 'sex'). I just bought C. L. Summers book, and read it. We are going to get a discussion going soon. I hope you will join in. we will probably mine most of the content out of the discussions.

I struggled like crazy yesterday with trying to post Amazon Banners. I don't know why it's so impossible at Wordpress, yet so easy at Blogger. I'll keep at it today, but I'm disappointed in myself for the amount of time I've been spending in front of this thing, without getting much done. :-(

  8. @ Natasha: No. I thought I requested it from you. I searched, and couldn't find it. I think I'm going to make a box on the application form for it, so this won't happen again. Sorry. Just send it to me. I've got $50 waiting for you!

  9. I'm leaving for a road trip in an hour. I'll check in from the road. But looks like another day of not getting a lot done...Arrgh! Sorry everyone. I'll get back on the ball.

  10. Hi
Kevin I don't mind posting on BCG for other writers if you are busy just send them to me.

Payment system: What if a writer suddenly wants all his money and we don't have it in the kitty?
Things like this we must add to those set up articles.

Talking of abstinence and celibacy - would an article about the Jewish law/tradition of the married couple abstaining from sex for 2 weeks a month be relative?

Kevin give us some direction of subjects to write about that may be popular. Cos' I don't think all our ex-farm articles will be sell-able (recipes for example). I've started taking site reviews from my farm articles and putting in DOCs, but we could concentrate on particular fields which may come up in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @ Kevin- all I know is I will be getting an epidural. I don't know if it will be a site for a permanent pain pump or if it will be done on an as needed basis. I'll keep working as much as I can.

    ReplyDelete
  12. @SallyEpidurals can take away feeling in the legs so I wouldn't think it would be a permanent thing.

    @Kevin - Links
Can we put links back to our personal (not shared) affiliated sites (I have an affiliated link to a hotel booking site)in the articles on BCG? SHould the articles on BCG have links to farm articles?

    ReplyDelete
  13. @Kevin, it takes me time to edit/proof the spinout before posting. The actual posting takes minutes if nothing goes wrong.

Are Exodus articles put in the tables?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Kevin, sending you an email right now! It was one of those things I had inputted in the form when I first applied, but perhaps since I had had problems with it initially it didn't come through??? Anyway, I guess I will hear from you tomorrow!!

  15. Tried to check in from the road, no wifi. I know, I got more excuses that a pregnant nun! haha...I'll be on today, as soon as I get back from church (need to ask forgiveness for my nun joke) :-)

  16. @ Natasha: Sent it! all set
@ Petal: awesome! I'm late, butr will answer as soon as I get back church/visit with family in RI.
@ Sally: Sorry, one foot out door, didn't even get to read your stuff yet.

Thanks everyone, for being patient. I might have made another $100 sale though yesterday! :-D

  17. More Q & A:

    Links to other sites?
I don't want to be strict about outgoing links, but just remember, it's "incoming" links that help us. Also, it's important to link within our sites too. We have to get thousands of incoming links before we are going to rank high.

    I.O.U. Demands?
Remember, these are just "like" I.O.U.s...they are good for up to .10 per word. I have to post the "vineyard analogy." I think that will also help explain the payout system.

    Jewish abstinence articles?
Yes! I know what you are referring to. That would be ideal. C. L. Summers book covers the topic from a Baptist Christian perspective. I want to cover it from the Catholic Christian perspective. If we could look at it from the Jewish (Orthodox and Reform)angle, that would be great! Can you also talk about pre-marital sex in Jewish culture?

I'm so glad you are speedy with the posting, Petal! I like how you did the "read more" split as well. I think it's a good idea to post rather than use "pages" for our articles. I'm working on getting a "slideshow" to play on the front page.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @ Petal ~ I think what the doc is talking about is ESI epidural steroid injections... they don't work the same way epidurals for childbirth works because it's a steroid and not a 'numbing medicine'.. I don't know for sure.. I'm just guessing at this point until I actually get to the pain clinic.

I am writing when I can.. but I've not been writing for the last couple of days.. I'm just not able to right now. Will try again tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Kevin so did I do it wrong by making the articles "pages" under my name? If we treat them as posts they will all appear on the front page of the site.

When I save the spinout I then go back and edit/proof it before putting it on the site. When I do this I've been changing some words and sentances, does this matter?

When we eventually go back to TBS to get a spinout 2 how do we know we are not getting the same spinout as spinout 1? Does TBS always give the spunout articles in the same order?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Kevin - was the first payment only for those that are RSA as well as sold ones, rather than getting paid the per word rate for turning in any articles? I noticed that there are still a few you have not gone through at all, and didn't know if they would be counted for the next payout?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anyone needing articles posted on BCG send the DOC link to me and I'll post them for you.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Petal - I'm not even sure which ones I'm allowed to post and if we're able to post any to our blogs yet.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @ Petal ~ This is my experience: When I use the spinner, I make my versions all at once. You can choose how many you want up to 100 I think. They do come out kind of crappy though, so you would have to edit them. I do between 3 and 5 at a time ... they are all different that way. I'm not sure how they would turn out if you just did them one at a time.

I have to 'almost' totally rewrite them to make them look like a human being wrote them.. I'd never post anything on factoidz again that came straight from the spinner. After editing them they were okay though.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @ Petal.. I need your email address.. I've lost it from my account. I have a few of the celibacy ones written and some of the catheter ones written.. but there is no place on the table for me to record them. I won't write anymore of them until I can record them in the work table.

My email addy is oreocookie3@gmail.com if you want to send me an email so I can get your addy back into my address book.

  25. Hi Everyone!

I'm back from RI. I got a lot of catching up to do. I think we need to completely focus on understanding the payment system. When we "launch" this thing, which we haven't really done yet, then we are going to need a proper explanation, along with (more likely built into) the "Terms" that we need to be working on as well.

I know the system is tough to understand. But just remember:

Chris Knight's was simple: Stock my site with articles, and I'll give you a link back to your own site. I keep all the revenue your content generates.

Mike Quoc's changed constantly, from 50% AdSense revenue, to I'll pay you whatever I feel like until you piss me off, then I'll keep all your content and all the revenue it generates.

I'm going to post the "vineyard" analogy I did here on the blog. Let's all four of us, keep posting to that today, and have straight questions and answers, mainly about the payment system. When we are done, we can "mine" articles out of the discussion. So let's keep it on topic.

    See you there!

    -Kevin

  26. This is sort of, kinda on topic! I was just looking at Constant Content they post the srticles as images so that no one can steal them, I've for gotten how and why we aren't worried of people copy/pasting our stuff?

As for payments we have to imaging we have thousands of writers and jobs and that it will still work. Also imagine we have no incoming cash for a while whether the payment system would hold up or dry up.
