Inspirationals

Carol has a great idea here. She wants to have a place outside of email (praise the Lord) to post inspirationals. They will have something to do with creativity, writing, motivation...And even spiritual. Remember when Mike Quoc at Factoidz censored all "religious" content? We will have none of that here. If it inspires you, and you think it will inspire others...Post-away!

I guess we can put them either in comments, or as we all have authoring permission (we can have up to 100 authors) then we can just keep updating this post as well. On that note, we have to find out how to back up this blog, just in case the disgrutled employee of the month gets inspired to hit the delete button! Anyone who knows how to secure that, please advise. It could get you the "Security Manager" hat!

I have one that I heard recently that I find very inspirational by one of my favorite artists, who produced my all time favorite piece of art: The Pieta

Here it is:

"I saw an angel in the marble and I carved until I set it free"
-Michael Angelo

  1. If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.

  3. thanks Kevin, but I can't take full credit. The inspirations were my idea and I did send them out by email, but the blog where everyone could participate was in fact Richard's idea.

  4. “When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy – age 4

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, “Nothing, I just helped him cry”

  6. This post is written in response to Carol's article about backing up a blog to prevent anyone from deleting it. Though this won't stop anyone from deleting it, I just created a Google Site and copied this whole blog into it. It is private to anyone with a link to it, so if something happens to this blog, you can ask me for a link and we can at least put the blog back up. That's the only thing I know to do.

  9. Remember that on the Zodiac, the Pician Age is concluding and
the Age of aquarias is ascending. This is the Age of Women. The symbol
for the age is water, which means a a more fluid approach
to life and love. This age will bring in higher and higer
levels of female ascendency. The initial stages of the age can be seen
in the many inroads women are making in all fields of endeavor, many
of which were previously male oriented. Our time has come!

  12. This is a humdinger I just found tonight at the perfect time!

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.

    ~Mother Teresa

  13. I just found out that this was "misattributed" to Mother Teresa. The Internet is fulla bullshit; Be inspired by it anyway.

  14. "If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives; Be kind anyway."

This one is so true in my life and more recently in that of my beloved sister, Freda. It is in both of our hearts to help or lend a hand (or just a shoulder to cry on) whenever it is needed.

In Freda's case, she loves to cook and share her wonderful dishes with some of the less fortunate or sickly in her apartment building. The other day, someone asked her why the heck she spends her time doing something like this.

Can you believe that? I told her to just keep those folks in her prayers and continue to show her kindness. Of course, she agreed.

Are some folks of an entirely different mentality? I really don't understand it. However, we need to love them anyway - a little something (or really something phenomenal!) that I learned during a near death experience about 'unconditional love.'

  16. this last quote is very good, writers complain of writers block and they don't put words to paper, or computer. I never have writers block because I start writing and the inspiration comes.

  17. Martha I am fascinated by near death experiences.

Kevin who wrote it I have seen that quote around for years and it was always attributed to Mother Theresa

  18. Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings. — Anais Nin
